Prague boasts a fascinating history, amazing architecture, and a love for art. But what may surprise you the most about Prague is our food culture. Yes, it’s true! Gone are the days of standardized recipes and hard-to-find ingredients under the Communist regime. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, everything here changed, including the food. Today, Prague is as much a foodie destination as any other major city and this Prague food tour will prove that to you – and to your taste buds.
Get ready to eat your way through centuries of history on this Prague food tour as you’re served a variety of dishes, ranging from the most traditional to modern recipes. With a local foodie guide by your side, you’ll follow Czech cuisine from its earliest European influences, through the Communist era of the mid-1900s, to the culinary inspirations of today. You’ll discover an assortment of Czech dishes that will leave your taste buds dancing and your belly full and satisfied.
Join your friendly guide and a small group of fellow travelers for an intimate and hyper-local experience; expect your night to feel more like a dinner party with friends than a typical tour!
First up on our menu: a local bistro where every dish is prepared according to traditional recipes from the 1920s. Enjoy one of their daily specials, paired with a slice of delicious dark bread and either a classic Czech lager or homemade lemonade.
For thousands of years, Czech cuisine has been influenced by its neighbouring countries and cultures, creating its own profile of unique flavours. At our next stop, you’ll get to try this blend of cultures for yourself. This is true Czech food at its best.
We’ll finish off with some sweet dessert. You’ve likely seen tourists eating chimney cakes out on the streets but our dessert will be something completely different – an authentic treat that reminds us of our childhood and that you won’t find at any tourist stand.
In between all these bites, we’ll wander the historic streets of this beautiful city, passing through the New Town’s art deco passages and exploring the magnificent Old Town. Make sure to have your camera with you as there’ll be plenty of great opportunities for pictures.
We'll meet you in front of the main entrance to the Municipal House at Namesti Republiky 3/4 – across the street from Hybernia Theatre, right under the huge balcony. Your guide will be holding a "Prague City Adventures" sign.
Please ensure that you arrive at the meeting or pick-up point ten minutes before your tour starts.
