Meet our professional team
Meet our team in our cozy shop located in Prostneset, in the city center. Your guide will welcome you there and embark on our comfortable Mercedes Sprinter Minibus driven by a professional driver that will ensure your safety on the arctic roads. We want to provide superior quality service by taking a maximum of 15 people per tour, which allows the guide and driver to be available for everyone throughout the night.
Destination and duration of the trip
The guide will inform you about the destination at the start of the tour since the decision relies on the weather conditions in the local area that night. The goal is to find an area that will appear to have clear sky on the weather forecast, to be able to see northern lights from there. The guide and driver will work as a team to find a spot in nature that is safe to access and free from light pollution. Change of location might occur throughout the night in case the weather evolves and if another place seem relevant to check out.
The tour will last between 5 and 7 hours depending on how far you will drive and the weather conditions.
More than just a chase
While driving, your guide will connect with you and tell you more about the history and culture of Northern Norway. Once the final destination is reached, you will be able to wrap yourself in a warm thermal suit provided by us to tackle the arctic temperatures. The guide will prepare a bonfire for you to sit around and keep you warm. You will be able to enjoy a warm and locally cooked reindeer stew, with vegetarian option on request, together with hot chocolate, tea or coffee. Marshmallow will be also offered to grill on the fire for a real bonfire outdoor experience.
You will learn more about the myths and legends about the northern lights, as well as scientific explanations of the phenomenon. Your knowledgeable guide will make sure that you have a positive outdoor experience around the fire, sharing stories and experiences about the arctic, even when the weather is challenging, or the auroras take time to come.
Your memories matter
Our guides are trained to provide professional photographs in front of the northern lights but also capture memories of you, your family or your friends around the fire surrounded by the Norwegian arctic nature.
NB: Arctic weather can be challenging
We have thermal suits to keep you warm. However, make sure to have good clothes, good shoes, gloves and a hat to remain outside for several hours.
The weather changes very fast in the arctic and our guides and drivers have experience in the area.
The tour requires to be flexible so you might have to show patience and wait for a clear sky at the decided location or, sometimes have to drive to a different place depending on what the guide and driver will decide.
No toilets facilities are available during the tour since we will be driving through remote places surrounded by nature and mountains at night. However, we provide access to the bathroom at the shop before you start the tour.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at the same place where you were picked up (Prostneset). If your accommodation is on the way, it will be possible to drop you off there.
