Levada dos Maroços is an easy and flat hike through Levada, also known as the Mimosa Valley due to the abundance of Mimosa trees. It is a half-day hike that takes us along the Machico Valley, more specifically through the Maroços area
.On this tour we can discover the interior of the parish, which is an excellent example of life in the rural outskirts of Machico.
This levada was built to irrigate the surrounding farmland. The water is collected in several streams and tributaries that
