Perfect for parents, grandparents, teens and children (8+ years old), treat your family to some quality time together with this action-packed activity. As if learning to drive a tank wasn’t enough, you will also have a go at target shooting with giant paintballs!
Upon arrival, you will both be kitted out with tank suits (if needed) and helmets before your safety briefing and a short history lesson about the FV432 tank. Now that you’ve learnt about the vehicle you will be manoeuvring, it’s time to get going!
Firstly, your instructor will drive one lap; giving you the chance to enjoy the thrill of riding over the pits and peaks of our track from high up in the turret seats of the tank.
After a lap of the track, you will park up at the target practice position – no not the cows, but the bulls eye target board and two tanks in the middle of the track. You will both learn to charge, load, aim and fire the 40mm air cannon fitted to the turret of the tank from battle position. The question is, who will be the best shot?
Next, it’s the adult’s turn to drive. After mastering the controls, you will drive a lap with the driver’s hatch open followed by a lap in battle position with the driver’s hatch closed, only seeing the track through the periscope.
This package is suitable for one adult and one child or two adults (only one driver). You can add extra passengers who can also take part in the target shooting.

We do ask that you arrive 15-30 mins before your activity start time, this is just to ensure you're signed in and ready to go. You are welcome to arrive earlier if you prefer!
All participants will receive free admission to the museum on the day!
Spectators are welcome to attend for a fee of £12pp (under 5yrs are free) which can be paid for on arrival. This also includes admission to the museum on the day too.

We do recommend you wear long sleeves, trousers and sensible footwear. Clothing suitable for the outdoors and your chosen activity.
