Excursion to Covilhã, Belmonte and Serra da Estrela

At the indicated time we will meet atMarquês de Pombal Square, located in downtown Lisbon. There, we will take a vehicle to leave the capital and discover the country's cultural heritage and mountainous landscapes.

First, we will visit Covilhã,The gateway to Serra da Estrela. There, we will visit theCheese MuseumTo learn about the handmade manufacturing process of the famousSerra cheese. A true delicacy! Next, we will climb to the highest point in Mainland Portugal,the Serra Tower. From there, we will have incredible views of places like the Serra da Boa Viagem and even the Serra de Gredos, located in the neighboring country.

We will continue the tour going to Penhas da Saúde, a beautiful mountain village situated about1,500 meters above sea leveland which is located in the heart of Serra da Estrela. You'll be amazed by your landscapes! If you take the tour usWinter months, you can also enjoy the views of snow-capped mountains. Along the way, we will also see asculpture dedicated to Our Lady of the Good Star, the patron saint of shepherds, whoDate of 1946. Incredible, isn't it?

Next, we will begin the descent. The first stop will be atManteigas, a village of unique natural beauty located approximately700 meters above sea leveland which is located in the glacial valley of Serra da Estrela. Did you know that the village passes through theZêzere river? As we walk, we will be accompanied by the sounds of the water. It's very relaxing!

We will then take you to a wine cellar so you can sample the region's wines and cheeses, and then we'll give you a free hourin Belmonteso that you can explore this beautiful town at your own pace.

After the panoramic tour, we will board the vehicle again to return to Lisbon. We will drop you off at the starting point after approximately 12 hours of activity.
