Have you heard of the word Hygge and wonder what it means? Our Danish guides describe the term Hygge as a way for the Danes to look at life, making it as cosy and enjoyable as possible. Who wouldn't want to experience that?
Diving straight in on our Copenhagen Hygge Private Walking Tour, we'll explore why the Danes have been named "the happiest people in the world" and how it relates to the art of Hygge. We'll show you the most Hygge spots of the city - mainly going off the beaten trail and taking you to locations somewhat hidden to Copenhagen's many visitors. As this may be the only tour you do while in Copenhagen, we'll, of course, include the major highlights of the city. We'll let locations such as Rosenborg Castle and Christiansborg Palace serve as an inspiration to talk about topics relating to the art of Hygge and the Danish way of life, including but in no way limited to design, architecture and politics. To top off the experience, we'll also indulge in the culture of Hygge by enjoying a good cup of coffee and pastry.
From warm summer days, when most of the day is spent outside, and the sun sets late at night, to the cold and dark winter days when life is all about lightening candles, snuggling and drinking tea in front of a fireplace with your loved ones, Hygge comes in different forms depending on the season. By taking on Hygge from all angles, we hope to not only tell you about it but also show you what it means and leave you with the feeling that is Hygge. We hope to see you on tour!
