Step into the gentle steam of the traditional log sauna located on the tranquil riverbank of Ounasjoki. Here, sauna bathing merges with the beauty of nature and the ambiance of traditional Finnish sauna culture.

Tonttula unisex Sauna offers you a unique opportunity to relax with friends or family. The sauna benches accommodate up to 15 bathers at once, allowing you to share the joy of sauna bathing with your loved ones. A large wood-burning stove ensures soft and pleasant steam that relaxes both body and mind.

After stepping out of the steam room, you can plunge into the refreshing waters of the Ounasjoki River, enjoying the free-flowing water in the summer or daring to take a dip in the ice hole during the winter. You can also relish the tranquility of nature by the riverbank and admire the beautiful landscapes.

Please note that the sauna does not have separate washing rooms for men and women. We have one shower in the steam room, so washing takes place in a shared space. Our dressing rooms do not have lockable storage lockers. There is one WC facility adjacent to the sauna.

Tonttula unisex Sauna offers a self-guided sauna experience. You can relax and enjoy sauna bathing at your own pace. After sauna, you can spend time with friends on the terrace of the riverside sauna and enjoy refreshing drinks at the Tonttula café.

Swimming or dip into pure water depending on weather conditions. Please take this into account especially in November-December and April-May. No money refund if swimming or dip into pure water is not possible.
